where is the rest of my blog

Hi... bet you thought i was losing it, when you read my last blog... half of it is missing, i must have typed at least 3 more paragraphs... and it didn't show up... and i can't remember what i rattled on about... oh well, guess it doesn't matter much...

Went to Dog agility last nite, took both dogs as i missed the Tuesday class with Jesse, 3 hours of running on and off, in a %^&* cold wind, must have been about 3 degrees, i was frozen...it would be okay, but after running around for a couple of hours, then sitting for 40 minutes as i drove home just about did me in... i was so stiff when i got home, i could hardly walk..cold and stiff and sore... so i went right to bed, warmed up, but tossed and turned all night long..and then had a hard time getting moving this morning..but once i get moving i feel better, I headed for the pool this morning, did some exercises for an hour and then sat in the hot tub for 10 minutes, sure felt better.. both dogs did great, Dixie is finally catching on, she will never be fast, but she will be dependable... Jesse is fast, but sometimes gets carried away and makes her own course...we have our first weekend trial June 7-8...should be fun... Off on Monday to Fenn Lodge for our mini retreat... i will only be there 2 nites, as i have to leave on Friday for the dog trial..and feel guilty leaving my better half too long... i am also going to Olds end of June.. and will be gone 5 or 6 days not sure just when i will leave..and exactly what day i will head home..still working on my garden boxs, hope to get them planted this weekend... no cards with friends this weekend, they are going to a Lobster dinner in town... we both love Lobster, but don't care for that many people in one room... L is definitely a HERMIT... he has been cleaning up the place, must have made at least 8 trips to the dump the last couple of weeks...19 years of junk that he never had time to dispose of... We had quite a surprise this morning, He went to let the dog out, and the cats in, when he thought he was seeing things... there were 3 cats out there... and two of them looked like twins.. Cleo is a light tan colour, long and slinky... and Willy is a orange slug..well there were two light tan cats out there..mirror imagines of each other... Cleo is about 9 years old, so is a mature looking girl, while the new one was just a year or two old...still a teenager..really weird, Larry thought he was losing it and seeing double... wish i could have gotten a picture of the two of them.. well had better go do something..go spin some lovely Royal purple from Aurelia wools...

good evening

hi how goes the battle... been busy around here... Larry went to Kamloops to see specialist after his major stomach upsets two months ago... he had a pre cancerous pollup in his colon, nothing too serious, but he has to go back in a year's time for a check up..that was on Monday, and then Tuesday i had an appt with my Rhuematologist (spelling??) and he had one with the optometrist, I had had a bone density scan begining of May, and Dr Hudson tells me that i have the BONE DENSITY of a 20 year old...I need the body of a 20 year old, but i was pleased with that...she said was the good genes..must have been from my Dad, he fell several times when he was in the home, and never broke a bone...

http://www.wwkipday.com/ check out this web site... it is World wide knit in public day across the world on June 14th... our guild decided that we would sponsor it here, we have made arrangement to have it at the Bailey House, a 100 year old heritage home here in Merritt.... lovely old home, with a beautiful garden...

almost another week as gone by

Just where does the time fly... things have been hectic around here... Larry has been cleaning up the yard, it has been over a year since he broke his leg and smashed his ankle.. so very little yard work has been done... looks good now... he even clean off the deck of the shop... and put things away... but lucky for him he didn't touch my carder, which he put a motor on this winter...he was feeling guilty i think... of course i haven't had time to use it yet...better do it soon...use it that is... sheep shearer should be here soon, he will probably come the couple of days i am down at Fenn Lodge with the girls from the island..or the weekend i am at the Agility trial on the weekend... off to Kamloops on Tuesday for a Dr's appt and then the guild meeting on Wednesday... hope Caroline will be there as we were going to take her out for her 65th birthday, but she hasn't been able to come as her hubby has been ill, and they needed to go to DR's appt...65 is pretty special so we will take her out for lunch one day soon... Annie had to wait over a month before we could take her out...we only celebrate the special birthdays..we usually have one big party a year to celebrate birthdays..we exchange gifts, have a cake and a pot luck... Well i had better go and do chores, we are having 4 friends over for cards to nite... homegrown chicken done on the Bar B que, potato salad, spinach salad, deviled eggs and raw veggies and dip...and then strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert...sounds like i am pushing summer, but it has to get here soon... the Lilacs are just beautiful this year, and some of the old fruit trees are just covered in blossoms...i even had some blossoms on my peach tree, never had any peaches.. but a few blossoms... been spinning some lovely royal purple from Andrea... i love the woolee winder, one bobbin holds 100 grams with room to spare..might have to get another 100 grams...not sure what shawl i will make, but must decide real soon.............. hugs

my goodness where has the time gone

I just can't believe that it has been over 10 days since i last wrote... it is Larry's fault... he kept coming home from Occupational therapy last week... left Monday am, came home Tuesday, Wednesday and had to go back on Thursday for a 15 minutes final assessment... and now he is home for good...I have been going to the pool 3 times a week...M W and Fridays.. i headed into town for my Friday swim..got half way to town and remember i left my bathing suit and bag at home... when he wasn't home, i would drop the bag in front of the door, but with him home that didn't work... so i walked away with out it... see it was his fault... .. I got Jackson a hair cut last week too... poor boy it was just too cold ... we were home half an hour and he was pounding on the front door cuz he was COLD.... i found an old sweat shirt of L and cut off some of the arms and put it on him...and when he left the house, i figured it would only be on him for a couple of minutes, but when i went out to do chores and feed the dogs, he still had it on... he kept it on all nite, much to my surprise... i did take it off for a couple of hours, and then put it back on... he wore it for a couple of days, but when the last time i took it off..(he would come and rub against my legs) he won't come back to me to get it back on....guess he didn't need it on any more...
We added another dog to the herd this week... oldest son and wife are off for a vacation and i needed Jesse to do some agility training, so she is here for their holiday.....she was just worn out on Saturday, they all played so hard..she won't even follow me to do chores..they are just too funny when they play... Dixie is on the bottom, Jackson is laying on her, and Jesse is chewing on Dixie too..
weather has cooled off today... i have been working on my veggie boxes.. got two done..will try to get one done a day... planted green onions, radishes, and swiss chard yesterday... am soaking corn to plant tomorrow.. will cut up spuds today to plant tomorrow... the beds were so dry i had to water them to get the weeds out... we are having friends over for cards on Saturday..so also have to clean house... back porch done today... am working on living room..computer desk looks like a bomb went off there.... this is Jackson with his sweater on...

here is Jackson, with out sweater, Jesse, and dixie on the bottom..

this is my Japanese flowering plum... weeks late in blooming but oh so pretty..

here is a close up of the flowering plum, after i took it i found there was a big smudge on the camera lens...

Desert Mesa retreat is almost full... 4 weeks...still haven't heard about the date for the spring retreat yet...we are trying for a different day as Williams Lake have their spin in on the same weekend... we are really trying, but might not be able to change... better go and finish my chores.... hugs

interesting things found in the back of the closet

I got into my bedroom closet yesterday, and found all kinds of things... living in a mobile, one doesn't have much room... so things just get stuffed away.. i even forgot that i had a large wicker basket that i used to keep all my wool in... found it stuffed in the corner full of summer cloths.. a couple pair of shoes that i thought i had lost... also got into the small cupboard beside the closet, found a couple of real treasures in there... 50 grams of CASHMERE... and 3 oz of Quivit... I think they were from a friend who had passed away about 8 years ago..I might have bought the cashmere, but i know i didn't buy the Quivit...so now have to figure out what to do with it... 50 grams of cashmere isn't much... so i might ply it with some silk and make a scarf or a shoulder shawl... I had 4 ozs of Quivit years ago, plyed it with silk and then dyed the whole skein red, the brown of the quivit took on a lovely red hue and the silk grabbed the red..looked good... off to the pool.. and have to do some banking...
Talked to number 2 son last night... sure miss the boy..(the young man)..he is still my baby and is 27 now... wish he lived closer... but probably won't see him much... number 1 son lives in town and i never see him... but they have their own lives... and what is the saying....
"a daughter is a daughter all of her life, a son's a son till he takes a wife"... that is oh so true, and everyone i know with sons feels the exact same way..but i know that was the same when i got married, but i always made a point of spending at least one evening a week with my Mother in law when Larry was driving long distance, and then when we moved to the interior , every time we went to the coast, after i had caught up with my Mom, I called Larry's mom... and we had a really good relationship...I still miss her terribly to this day..she taught me so much..silly things like how to kill and clean a chicken, milk a cow, make butter, cottage cheese and cheese..make head cheese... and really good pastry... hard to believe she is gone 29 years, and i still really miss her... better go before i really start tearing up....sob...

spring is trying really hard

Morning... slowly but surely spring is trying to push it's way thru... popular trees have tiny leaves, the saskatoons are showing blossoms.. they are always the first to bloom in this neck of the woods... my cherry tree is hanging on to it's blossoms for dear life, afraid if they show, we will have a frost... it is only a baby tree.. When i was out weeding the raspberries,(which are doing well, it is only their 2nd year), I had a old T shirt on that had red flowers on... a little Rufus hummingbird flew right up to me, and started poking me with his beak..at the red flowers, on my back, and then poked me in the BOOBS... i was trying so hard not to laugh as i was afraid to scare him away... I could see every feather he was so close, and the colour was unbelievable..I do have my feeders out, but i guess they weren't bright enough for him..what a truly marvelous experience... makes me glad i live in the country..
Went to Kamloops yesterday for a bone scan, have it every two years, must be the quickest test i have ever had... appt was at 10 am and i was out of there by 10:05... then went over to Penningtons, and spent the last of my Christmas present, so got two shirts and a pair of peddlar pushers, clam diggers or capris pants, or what ever they call them now... and it only cost me 20 bucks..then went to White Spot for lunch, did a few more things, stopped at Costco for some dog food, their Kirkland dog food is really good... the main ingredient is Chicken..and it has no grain in it.. and it only 24 bucks or so a 40 pound bag... and you don't have to feed as much with it... according to the bag, my 80 lb Bouvier should only have 3 cups..and my Border collies should only have 1.5 cups... and they really like it...took my girlfriend's little station wagon so i couldn't stock up, next trip i will buy 5 or 6 bags, so i don't have to run into Klps every two weeks.. Larry is in Klps again this week, poor guy is so bored, but if he doesn't finish WCB will cut him off...
We played cards with friends this past weekend... what a riot... the guys are like little kids, they win and they get so excited, laughing and hassling us... but when they lose, they claim we were cheating...what babies they are...
Yankee bird is telling me to "smarten up", when i walked into the house yesterday, he hollers Hello, and then says, "can ya believe it"..that is what L and I say to each other when he says something outrageous... he just said "don't chew it"..he is picking up more and more every day... when i put him to bed last nite, i said "night, night" and he said " kisses"... he looks down at the floor and says " what a mess"... just said "let me out", when i ignored him, he said "let me out, Please"...i don't think a day goes by when i don't marvel at his vocabulary, our life would be so boring if we hadn't bought him... hard to believe he is 4 years old... they usually don't start to interact with people until they are about 10... by then he will be carrying on full conversations with us...well i had better go strip the bed and get the laundry started... sure is quiet around here with L gone... i do enjoy the quiet time... but make sure the doors are locked when i go to bed...
didn't do any spinning this weekend, i am working on the Cria from Marie, i love to sit and spin and watch the TV, with L gone i get to watch what i want, and eat what i want... and when i want... I really love the woolee winder, i can get so much on the bobbin, and it is so neat, i know it is expensive for neat, and i am not normally a neat freak, but i never buy myself anything... but i do love it... was thinking of buying another wheel, a Joy or majacraft, so will have to get another for that... still thinking... maybe when i go to Olds, which i can hardly wait for...June and July will be busy months for me... Wee spin in with the girls from the island at Diane Brady's on June 1st, the dog trial the next weekend, and then 5 or 6 days in Olds the end of June, beginning of July... I need some me time, after all this hassel with L for the last year and a bit... me time, yup me time..... see ya
